Bondarchuk Breaks Through

10/07/10 - Morphettville

After a frustrating sequence of second placings, Bondarchuk was finally able to score over 1250m at Morphettville. After showing considerable promise as a 3yo that saw him place on three consecutive occasions at Group level before an unplaced effort in the South Australian Derby, Bondarchuk looks to be heading in the right direction. The win became only the second of his career but he has been placed on a further 10 occasions in his 22 starts. This striking son of Soviet Star has now taken his earnings to $97,000, with much more in store now that he is back in the winning groove.

On the same card Gogocanny finished second in the rating 94 Handicap. It was a welcome return to form for the son of Canny Lad, after a string of injuries had him performing below his best. Gogocanny has earned $115,000 in his career and was purchased at the 2007 Inglis Classic Sale by Darrell Ible Bloodstock.
