Darrell Ible formed Darrell Ible Racing and Bloodstock in 2002, after a lifetime involvement with thoroughbreds and the racing industry.
Prior to this, he had worked extensively within the industry - after leaving University he worked on thoroughbred studs and then spent a number of years working with leading country and city trainers, ultmately becoming a trainer in his own right.

A change in career path occurred when he was approached by clients from Adelaide, to act upon their behalf as a bloodstock agent. This new venture was an instant success. The first horse purchased by Darrell Ible Racing and Bloodstock was a $600 Deveraja colt, aptly named Pure Gold, who then went on to become a multiple metropolitan winner, winning in excess of $50,000.
